1. Condom Snorting/ Condom Challenge

Just when you believe that teenagers have become so bizarre these days that they can’t come up with anything new to shock their parents, the new fad is called “condom snorting” or the “condom challenge”.  The challenge is where teens nasally ingest a condom and pull them out of their mouths. Although videos surfaced online in October 2012, the challenge became viral after a YouTube post of a girl successfully completing the challenge while blasting Taylor Swift’s “22” in the background.

2. French Fries Parties

French Fries Parties are the new party craze that will make nutritionists pull hair out of their heads. Teenagers order dozens of McDonald’s French Fries, spreading them across the table on trays and digging right in. After, they take pictures of their “potato party” and upload them via Facebook, Twitter and blogs to show the world of their high intake of carbohydrates, fat and salt. The origin of this fad began in Japan when McDonalds ran a promotion advertising their French Fry sizes were all £1. The promotion then arrived in Korea and began spreading to the west.

3. The Butt Chug

“The Butt-Chug” or “Butt-Chugging” is the act of ingesting alcohol through one’s rectum through a tube. Once ingested into your rectum, alcohol is absorbed through the mucus membrane. College kids enjoy this “butt-chugging” because it increases the speed with which alcohol enters the bloodstream, quickening the intoxication process. Not only is this terribly disgusting, but it is also very dangerous, causing extreme drunkenness as well as rectum injuries.

4. The Cinnamon Challenge

For those who are wondering what the “cinnamon challenge” is, it’s daring someone to swallow a spoonful of ground cinnamon in 60 seconds without water and uploading the video on the Internet. The fad has become a trend among youngsters in the recent years. There are thousands of videos on YouTube of people swallowing spoonfuls of cinnamon powder. Most videos consist of people coughing, choking and scrambling for a bottle of water while their friend watch and laugh at their agony.

5. Salt & Ice Challenge

A new teen fad is called “the salt and ice challenge” that drew crowds on social networking websites and YouTube. Unlike other teen fads and “challenges”, this has proven to be dangerous by health professionals. For this challenge, people put salt on their skin and press ice into it to see who can tolerate the pain the longest. The longer the ice is pressed against the salt, the more serious the injury. When ice is mixed with salt, the temperature drops to -17 degrees, exposing skin and bones to negative temperature.

6. Sack Tapping

Sack tapping’s objective is for boys to withstand being flicked, hit or punched in the groin as a testament to their strength. As a “challenge” and a typical teenage boy mentality, none have thought of their adverse effects of sack tapping. On May 28, 2010, a 14 year old David Gibbons from Cosby, Minnesota, had been a victim of sack tapping and ended up having one of his testicles amputated.

7. Blood sucking, Vampire Style

Even though you may have never thought of this but a hickey or a love bite has taken on a whole new meaning. The popularity and influx of vampire movies and TV series have presented teenagers with a new idea for a fad. Teenagers are getting their enjoyment by biting one another hard enough to draw blood in order to drink it. The problem with this fad is that a human mouth has over 101 known types of bacteria, worse than any cat or dog. Doctors say that 10 to 15 percent of the human bite wounds become infected.

8. Oral Roulette/ French Roulette (NSFW)

This game features one male and many females. Each girl takes turns peforming oral sex on a male’s penis for short periods of time, usually just as long as she need to, and then stops, while all other girls try to stimulate the male. Owners only discover that their pool has been dipped when their pool is a mess the next morning.
