18 Trees You Should Never Plant in Your Yard
May 6, 2014 We all want our lawns and yards to be pleasing to the eye; therefore, we plant all kinds of shrubs, flowers, and trees. There are a few trees you need to avoid for a variety of reasons from damaging your foundation to insects to making allergies worse. Here are the 18 trees you should never plant in your yard along with the reasons.
1. Sweetgum
The Sweetgum offers a pretty good shade, nice autumn leaves, and even food for a few animals during the winter. However, this tree has large surface roots that can ruin your lawn and if close enough to your home, damage your foundation. Along with this, the spin fruits fall to the ground and can be very painful if you step on them barefoot and they are quite hard to collect.
